Before you can use this service you have to subscribe with GWS.
The configuration is done using Master Data - Drinks ‣ Internet search configuration, here you select the GWS entry and change the email and the password (use the appropriate data you received from GWS), then click Get an activation key and after the Activationkey field has been updated click Save changes!.
Select a wine and open the tab Vintages/Bottles - Bottle detail, click on the button next to Internet source field, a dialog will show which allows you to select between just getting a new market value or also getting a new reference code, you will then see a screen similar to the one below.

You will then see all the references GWS has for wine similar to your search criteria, to select the correct one just double click on the wine name and then click Close this dialog.

The dialog can also be started from the menu Tools ‣ Obtain current value from GWS, this is very handy to obtain current value for all the wines which have a reference code.
Select www Search from the toolbar, and select vinoxml wine profiles from GWS for Select WWW source.
Then enter the search criteria for Wine name and click Search.
GWS will display a list of wines similar to your search criteria, select the wine by clicking on the name, then enter the Vintage and Size and click on export.
A dialog might show, select Open this will start a small utility program which will save the file in your “C:\TheWineCellarBook\xmlImport” folder.
You may repeat this for additional wines, when you are done then use the steps explained in How to - Importing a .vinoxml file.
Select www Search from the toolbar, and select Wine availability search on GWS for Select WWW source.
Enter the search criteria for Wine name, and Vintage, and select an entry for Bottle, and Currency and then click Search.
Important
The GWS functions require access to the Internet, please ensure that your Firewall is not preventing “The Wine Cellar Book” accessing the Internet. If it is blocked by the Firewall you might get strange errors like “Could not read the GWS server - error 10022....”.
