How to - Work with bottle tags

The application “The Wine Cellar Book” is supporting different bottle tag formats.

  • vinochetta bottle tags
  • Mini labels by Avery, Agipa or similar label producers
  • Plastic bottle tags which you find at your favourite wine store are supported with the Mini labels
  • Vinoté pre-numbered tags
  • Vinoté Printable Neck Tags

The above Agipa and Avery labels can be used to be stick onto reusable tags one can find in Wine shops or the Vinoté Snap tags.

How is one using bottle tags

The idea with tags is to assign a unique number to every bottle within your cellar, this number is shown on the tags together with a corresponding bar code.

  • Activate the optional support for bottle tags in Dialog - Preferences.
  • Whenever you purchase tags you define them to the system using the menu item Master Data - drinks ‣ Bottle tags.
  • When you purchase drinks you assign tags to your bottles by using the button Assign tags to selected drink next to the quantity field, see also How to - Assign bottle tags for more details.
  • When you consume drinks you put the tags into a little box, and maybe write a note on the back of the label what the event was.
  • When you update your cellar book with the consumption take your little box and enter the numbers using one of the methods explained here How to - Create a drink consumption record.
