This dialog is accessible from the menu File ‣ Preferences and it allows you to define some configuration settings for “The Wine Cellar Book”.
Enter here the name you used to register your copy of “The Wine Cellar Book” - it has to be exactly the same (capitalization, spaces etc.).
Enter here the key you were supplied with your registration e-mail- it has to be exactly the same (capitalization, spaces etc.).
Note
The easiest way to enter the above two fields is to select the appropriate text in the registration e-mail and press CTRL-C, then go to the appropriate field (make sure that you are at the 1st position) in this dialog and press CTRL-V.
Select one of the defined languages. If you like to use English, but don’t like how I described some things (e.g. reason codes etc) I recommend that you use the language “English - user defined”. This ensures that during the next upgrade of the program your changes won’t get lost.
Select one of the predefined filters, they are used for the Screen section - Selection list - drinks.
Select the date format you would like to use.
Click to set the tick mark if you want to use bottle tags (e.g. Vinoté tags). see also How to - Work with bottle tags. You need to restart “The Wine Cellar Book” after changing this!
Click to set the tick mark if you want that bottle tags get automatically assigned, see also How to - Assign bottle tags, it is recommended to use this option when you work with bottle tags.
Select the reason code you like to use when doing a cellar transfer(available from the Consumption tab)
Define the number of days for your backup interval, if you set it to 14 the system will remind you on startup if you have not done a backup within the last 14 days.
Define here the default measure to be used in The Recipe Book.
Define here the default ingredient to be used when importing recipes.
Define here the Tasting System you want to us to calculate average tasting score.
Define here the Rating Type you want to us to calculate average rating score.
Note
The system is setup to not only have all the screens translated but many of the database tables (e.g. Country, Regions etc) are also translated, most of them are translated into French, German and English, if a translation has not been done then the English entry will be used/shown.
